Last updated: Tip: For country-specific rules (permits, park fees, local operator terms), the final confirmation email/invoice may add details.
1) Bookings & Confirmations
A booking is considered confirmed only after you receive written confirmation (email/WhatsApp) and
any required deposit or full payment is received (depending on the service).
Trip details
You are responsible for providing correct dates, names (as in passport), and contact details.
Third-party suppliers
Some services (hotels, boats, park tickets) are provided by third parties and may have their own rules.
Minimum notice
Last-minute bookings may have limited availability and higher costs.
2) Payments
Payment methods and deadlines are provided in your invoice or confirmation message.
Bank charges, card fees, and transfer fees may apply depending on your payment method.
Deposits
A deposit may be required to secure hotels, vehicles, guides, or tickets. Deposits may be non-refundable if suppliers have already been paid.
Balance payments
The remaining balance is usually due before the tour start date or on arrival—this will be stated on the invoice.
Currency
Prices are typically quoted in USD unless otherwise stated. Exchange rates are controlled by banks/payment platforms.
Important: If a card payment shows “pending,” your bank may still need to approve or confirm the transaction.
3) Cancellations & Refunds
Cancellation and refund rules depend on the service type and what has already been reserved or paid to suppliers.
We will always communicate the applicable terms before you pay when possible.
Supplier costs
If hotels, transport, permits, or tickets are already booked/paid, those costs may be non-refundable.
Late cancellations / no-show
Late cancellations or no-shows may result in no refund, especially for fixed-date services.
Refund processing
Refund timelines depend on the payment channel (bank transfer/card/platform). Bank fees may be deducted.
4) Changes to Itineraries
Travel in Africa can involve road conditions, weather, permit rules, and operational changes.
We may adjust routes or timings to keep the trip safe and realistic.
Client-requested changes
If you request changes after confirmation, prices may change (hotel upgrades, extra distance, extra days, special vehicles).
Operator adjustments
We may adjust order/timing of activities to improve safety, reduce delays, or match opening hours.
Force majeure
Events beyond control (weather, strikes, closures, political events) may require changes or cancellations.
5) Traveler Responsibility & Liability
You are responsible for ensuring you have the correct travel documents, insurance, and fitness level for your trip.
Participation in activities is at your own risk.
Travel documents
Passports, visas, vaccines, and entry requirements are your responsibility. Always verify with official sources.
Insurance
We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers medical care, evacuation, and trip cancellations.
Health & safety
You must follow guide instructions, local laws, and safety rules during tours.
Limit of liability
African Things To Do is not liable for losses caused by third parties (airlines, hotels, transport providers) or events beyond reasonable control.
Note: Some activities (boat tours, trekking, wildlife viewing) involve natural risk. We reduce risk with planning and guidance, but cannot eliminate it completely.
6) Website Use
By using this website, you agree not to misuse content or services.
